1. Federal Law controls when there is conflicting state law on an issue subject to federal power. See Gibbons v. Ogden, 22 U.S. 1 (1824).

2. Annoyingly, you must cite to 3 different reporters when citing a case decided in Wisconsin since 2000.

3. In Wisconsin, in certain situations it is possible to get punitive damages even in the absence of actual damages. Jacque v. Steenberg Homes, 209 Wis. 2d 605 (1997).
